SYMPTOMS
HSV-1
- Frequently asymptomatic. Causes severe disease in the newborn.
- Irritation of throat, gums and eyes.
- Presence of lesions.
HSV-2
- Fever, Malaise, anorexia.
- Presence of lesions
EFFECTS
HSV-1
Gingivitis, Stomatitis, Herpes labial, Conjunctivitis, Kaposi
sarcoma, Encephalitis.
HSV-2
- Herpes genital, Herpes oral.
- In the neonates, there is foetal wastage, birth defects and even death.
