TOMATO SAUCE 
You will need: 
  - 450 g of halved tomatoes
 
  - Seasoning
 
  - 100 ml of water
 
  - 1 chopped onion
 
  - 1 chopped apple
 
  - Pinch mixed herbs
 
 
METHOD 
  - Simmer all the ingredients together until the tomatoes are
    very soft.
 
  - Rub through the sieve. Do this firmly to make sure the
    pulp of the tomato, apple and onion are pushed through to thicken the sauce as well. 
 
  - If necessary thin with a little stock or water
 
  - To give a more spicy flavour to the sauce you can add a
    crushed clove of garlic or a little Worcestershire sauce.
